Description
We offer natural St. John's wort hydrolate for drinks, obtained from the plant Hypericum perforatum. On foreign markets, the liquid is offered under the English-language name St. John's wort natural hydrolate for drinks. The Hypericaceae family brings together species with distinct reservoirs in which the aerial and floral tissue retain the volatile compounds of the plant. The flower mass enters the distillation and gives the finished product its light tone. In Bulgaria, the crops are grown naturally. Steam distillation determines the pure aromatic pattern of the distillate, in which the herbal side leads ahead of the warm and the slightly sweet shade of the scent. The mild level of the aroma follows the small volatile content in the aqueous phase. The aqueous phase and the volatile constituents make up the entire content, while preservatives and colorants have no part in it. Pinene, caryophyllene and germacrene lead the volatile fraction of the flowers, which explains the herbal and slightly sweet direction of the scent in the distillate. The color picture covers the transition from colorless to pale yellow. In addition, the product presents itself as a clear liquid. Since the plantations grow under a natural regime, the content of the distillate is limited to water and volatile substances from the flower mass. The pale yellow shade of the liquid derives from the light coloring of the flowers themselves, while the other aerial parts of the plant remain outside the starting material. The mild strength of the scent and the light tone of the liquid go together in the overall character of the distillate. The liquid falls within the pale yellow range and carries a mild herbal scent with a warm and slightly sweet finish.
Application
St. John's wort flower hydrolate is used in the preparation of refreshing lemonades, to which it gives a fine herbal nuance and a balanced taste. It is suitable for cold and iced teas, where it brings a delicate grassy profile, as well as for carbonated drinks, in which it leaves a light aromatic accent without dominating the other ingredients. The distillate fits well into fresh juices and smoothie combinations, adding a mild plant shade and a feeling of freshness. It can be used to flavor water for daily consumption, for cold infusions with a light character and for detox drinks with a refreshing effect. During the warm months, it is suitable for summer cooling mixes, and in combination with citrus or fruit components, it complements the flavor profile with a pleasant herbal finish. It is also used in homemade recipes and in functional drinks where an authentic plant taste is sought. In all these applications, the product integrates easily and adds a harmonious aromatic layer with a mild aftertaste.
